Rebel without a Deal
or, How a 30-year-old filmmaker with $11,000 almost became a Hollywood player
Authored by Vincent Rocca
Commentaries by Kevin Smith
Rebel without a Deal chronicles how a High School dropout made Kisses and Caroms in five days for $11,000, landed and lost a multi-million dollar deal with National Lampoon, later releaseing the movie through Warner Bros. where it went on to gross over one million dollars.
Everything is covered from film school to the idea, writing it and financing it, the entire shoot, postproduction, film festivals, meeting Kevin Smith and suicidal depression. No subject is taboo. This is a real account of no-budget filmmaking, down to profit and loss statements.
New York Times-bestselling author and award winning screenwriter and director, Kevin Smith lends his take on Vince's Journey and relates his experience with Clerks.

Ben Enlow | Tuesday, October 03, 2006 - 01:25 am Just saw K&C last night and loved it. It's so hard to get good movies stationed here in Iraq but I must say that yours was a great one that I will definately be watching again and passing along the good news to all of my buddies that this is definately a movie worth watching! |
Vince (Vince) | Wednesday, October 04, 2006 - 10:50 am Fantastic! I'm jazzed that I could bring some entertainment to you guys. You rock! You guys make it so I can make flicks. Come back safe! The one you saw, did it have cover A or cover B If it had no cover, did it have a Screener message that scrolled or did it have behind the scenes? I'm curious because I sent over a bunch of screeners (A) and I'm wondering if those made it. Thanks again, and I'm glad you liked it. |
Ben Enlow | Wednesday, October 04, 2006 - 10:31 pm It had cover B on the front and Cover A on the back. At least that's what I think, I'll check for you the next time I am dig it out. I'll try to make that effort today. |
Vince (Vince) | Thursday, October 05, 2006 - 10:06 am Sweet! I sent those DVD's over in care packages. I'm glad to hear they made it. |
Ben Enlow | Wednesday, October 11, 2006 - 02:47 am I finally got around to looking at the package and I was right. Poster B is on the front and Poster A is on the back. All I can say Vince is to keep coming out with great movies like this and definately keep me informed when new ones are coming out. I'm soon leaving this place but I am positive that I will know people still over here and I would love for them to be able to see movies like this to keep them entertained and happy while serving our country. Thanks Vince! |
