Any word from Kevin Smith?
Kisses And Caroms Discussion Board: Any word from Kevin Smith?
tatorhead | Sunday, January 25, 2004 - 08:14 pm I read in your journal that you sent a copy of your movie to Kevin Smith. That would be great for publicity. Also, I would send your film to some of the well known filmmakers that busted their balls making their first movie (Robert Rodriequez and Quentin Tarantino, maybe Guy Ritchie). I'm sure they will probly appreciate what its like trying to get a movie made. You will probly get a quote from Kevin Smith however. He seems very in touch with his fanbase. |
Vince (Vince) | Monday, January 26, 2004 - 12:10 pm Yes, for those who don't remember (or didn't read), at the Stash Bash Kevin said he'd watch K&C. I did in fact give him a copy last Friday. However, he has two scripts to read before watching it. So, it may take a while for him to get to. I'll keep ya'll posted. As for Rodriguez, I don't have any access to him. However, being that "Rebel Without a Crew" was so inspiring to me, I would like to know his opinion on K&C. Do you know Robert? Does anyone? I actually do have access to Quentin through a friend, but I'm not sure K&C would be his cup of tea. I like Guy's flicks, but frankly, his opinion on K&C wouldn't matter to me, unless he liked it so much that he got it in to theaters. But let's face it, after Swept Away, his pull might be suffering. Ouch! Little poke! I haven't even seen Swept. Truth is, I don't think K&C would be Guy's cup of tea either. Kevin's opinion does matter. At least more then any other writer/director. Except for Spielrocks or Camerons. My mind would just be blown if Steven or Jim saw K&C and liked it. K&C has a couple Askew references in it and Kev gave us permission to use one such "Moobys" plus the materiel is very much to his fan base, because I'm his fan base, or at least one of 37 fans of his flicks. So Kevin's opinion does matter more. If he likes it, then I hit my mark. If he hates it, well then what the hell does he know anyway????? |

jessem | Wednesday, October 13, 2004 - 12:34 am Has he seen it now? |
Vince (Vince) | Thursday, October 28, 2004 - 01:28 pm Actually, I should be seeing him in the next few days. I'm giving him a revised copy on DVD with completed score and sound. I think he'll watch it in the next few weeks. At least if he wants his custome billiard balls, he will!!! |
