HACKS screening
Kisses And Caroms Discussion Board: HACKS screening
Bart | Sunday, March 20, 2005 - 02:31 pm I got this message because I'm on the FILMTHREAT mailing list. Perhaps this would be an opportunity to pass a screener on to the folks at FILMTHREAT.COM? ---- ------- FILM THREAT SCREENING SERIES INVADES CINESPACE! ============================== How do you like to spend your Tuesdays? Watching network TV? Getting drunk alone and then crying yourself to sleep? It's time for a change! Let Film Threat jam a hot rod of independent film up your Tuesday night with the Film Threat Screening Series! Launching in style, the Film Threat Screening Series with debut at Hollywood's own CineSpace on March 29th, 2005 for a debauched evening of indie film fun. Filmmakers, get a Film Threat critic drunk and find out what they really thought of your film. Film fans, enjoy an evening of food, drink and indie film. The series kicks off with a screening of Glenn Rockowitz's "based-on-a-true-story" mockumentary, "Hacks." The perfect counterpoint to most films about stand-up comedy, "Hacks" exposes what the industry is like for those comedians that are less than talented. We could say more, but we'll let comedian Jackie Martling sum up the film in two words: "FUCKING BRILLIANT!" After the screening, mingle with Film Threat founder Chris Gore and a few other Film Threat staffers (including Film Threat DVD's Mark Bell... if you've got a film you want distributed, talk to him). Buy them drinks, and they just might love you... or at least pass out in your arms. Then, if you are so inclined, stick around for CineSpace's Indie Film Tuesdays celebration with live bands and DJs playing and spinning until the early morning. Doors open at 7pm and the film (and a few other surprises) will get underway shortly thereafter. Seating is limited, so get there early to claim your spot. To recap: Film Threat Screening Series presents "Hacks" at CineSpace Tuesday, March 29th, 2005 Doors open 7pm, Event until 10pm Indie Film Tuesdays with live bands and DJs 10pm-2am Get out of your house and hang with Film Threat! Bart | Tuesday, March 22, 2005 - 06:39 pm Oh, and HACKS is a film that I'm in. So, Vince, should I pass a screener to Chris Gore or would you be coming by? I know you're not a big HACKS fan, but there seems to be a convergeance here that would be a shame to pass up.... |
Vince (Vince) | Thursday, March 24, 2005 - 12:32 am Not a big Hacks fan, but I am a BIG Bart fan. My accountant loves you too. I gave him a copy with my taxes, to remind him I was a poor film maker and he shouldn't over bill me, course he has the pathetic numbers in front of him, but anyway, he loved you. Thought you were great. Not sure if I'll make it. The day before Michael and I are going to Vulgarthon. It starts at 10:am and goes till midnight. I might be all filmed out. For those who don't know, Vulgarthon is a fest of sorts that Kevin Smith is putting on. As far as passing K&C to GORE. I've met Gore and we've talked about K&C. He had lined up a writer to come to one of our screenings, but never showed. I'm leery about what FT will say about K&C. It's luck of the draw and momentum. The more buzz we get before they review it, the better. FT doesn't really help a films success these days, but it can hurt it. I'd say wait. I'll give it to Gore soon, but by all means, carry copies with you and if you run into anyone else pass it along. Also, feel free to take business cards and tell press types/distributors that you'll send them out a copy and press kit on Wednesday. Forward them to me and I'll mail 'em out. |
